The system architecture is to Java J2EE specification that separates each programming layer and provides a robust and secure system foundation for web use. It will continue to be evolved in line with the health insurance sector particularly as it moves towards the self insurance option.
Processing is driven by user-defined business rules, enabling organisations to focus on administrator or underwriter-specific requirements. The claims management solution encompasses prior approvals, medical invoice settlement and both hospital and primary care claims and an automated and rule-based claim adjudication.
The integrated solution is built around core business information such as groups, plan definitions, policies and related products and product bundles. All information resides on a single, easily retrieved database.
The system can handle unlimited underwriters, ensuring that information is obtained easily via management reporting tools. This allows centralised integration with external underwriter or group systems as required.
